Here is what is on my mind today.1. BNY Mellon is the oldest bank in the United States and they are all about the crypto! They launched custody services for digital assets alongside their traditional investment services. I bet Alexander Hamilton didn't see this coming. 2. Bittrex has agreed to pay a $53M fine for improper Anti-money laundering (AML) practices. U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) made the announcement yesterday. OFAC and FInCEN stated he Washington-based crypto exchange was used to help sanctioned countries move over $263M. This is a clear message to other exchanges that they have better have things in order. The SEC is doing a lot more than sending messages. With their investigation into Bored Ape Yacht Club's NFTs, they are sending shockwaves across the Cryptoverse. 3. Grayscale is going up against City Hall with their lawsuit against the SEC for denying their spot ETF back in June. Grayscale filed their documents with the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. Finally, someone is taking the SEC to task. This is one case I am definitely going to follow. 4. India's central bank is testing the e-Rupee. We all know this is a major part of their effort to completely squash crypto use in the country. I keep saying it is going to be more than hard to stop crypto once it is in your country. The harder governments make it, the more creative people will get to use it. 5. I keep telling people SWIFT is going to have some serious competition in the future. Well, the future is here with JPMorgan and Visa getting together to allow cross-border payments between their respective blockchain networks, Link and B2B Connect. The message I got was this use case is going to heat up. 6. The Caribbean nation, The Commonwealth of Dominica, has selected Justin Sun's TRON to develop and issue the Dominica Coin (DMC). I am definitely not a fan of Justin Sun and this smells like there is going to be some fireworks along this journey given his history. 7. Google has been in the news a bit lately. They are allowing you to search for ETH addresses straight from their search engine. To me, this is nothing more than a pilot program since the search is very limited only allowing certain Ethereum wallet addresses. One has to think the program will eventually be expanded, but I expected more. 8. I am trying to understand who is going to use Microsoft Office in some half-baked metaverse implementation. Apparently Microsoft and Meta think it will be a great fit and have partnered to incorporate Office into Meta' Quest VR headsets. Can you spell trainwreck?
