Here is what's on my mind today.1. In a shocker, India says it is going to take its time creating a regulatory framework for crypto. If there is a playbook to follow to get it all wrong, India is creating it! 2. Chainalysis has released its 2021 crypto gains by report and it is nuts. Even I was taken aback. The world gained $162.7B in 2021 compared to only $32.5B in 2020. The united States far outpaced the rest of the world with an estimate $47B gained. That is over 28% of global gains! 3. If you thought Buenos Aires looking to allow people to pay their taxes in crypto was news, you had better sit down. Argentina is looking into leveraging distributed ledger technology for all of its operations. Let that wash over you for a moment. That is a statement not just about cryptocurrencies. It is about the viability of the technology for all government operations. That is quite the big deal. 4.NYC Mayor Eric Adams is calling for state regulators to listen to those actually in the cryptocurrency industry. Imagine if regulators stop acting out of fear and started acting with people in mind other than themselves or their "favorite constituents". We need regulation, but it needs to be handled with a pragmatic approach. Not all change is bad. That said, Mayor Adams wants this to happen because he has a goal to make NYC a crypto powerhouse. 5. Panama is the latest country to approve regulatory law that allows taxes to be paid with crypto! The list just keeps growing. 6. Following the brazen hack costing users over $620M, Ronin group has announced new security features and a relaunch date for the sidechain. More importantly, they are taking active steps to restore the funds to its users as it has promised. I am not a user of Ronin Networks, but I give much respect to them for their response to this major setback. They also confirmed the hack was carried out by "The Lazarus Group", a hacking group backed by the government of North Korea. 7. Luxury fashion retailer Philipp Plein is opening a store tomorrow. More importantly, the luxury London retailer will be accepting payments in Crypto. This is a big step toward increasing 8. So, you may be wondering why ApeCoin is on fire. Well, there is a land auction happening on Saturday at the Otherside. Don't know what that is? It is a metaverse by Yuga Labs and the coin to use there is ApeCoin. This falls inline with what Yuga Labs stated previously that just about everything they do in the metaverse will only use ApeCoin.
