• STEAM will not be involved in crypto and for good reason
• Anton Nell of Fantom and Andre Conje are getting completely out of the defi/crypto game
• I'm not the only one thinking XRP is ripe with major upward potential
• Fraud on Zelle? You don't say!
• Cardano is about to make some major upgrades
• China's UnionPay to Russia's rescue? Whoa!

I am thinking about creating a weekly wrap-up and releasing it on Saturdays or Sundays. Anyway, here is what is on my mind today:

1. Well, it looks like STEAM will not have anything to do with crypto, NFTs or the metaverse. The Gabe Newell, Co-founder and President of Valve Corporation, the company behind Steam, told a reporter from PC Gamer that 50% of the crypto transactions they allowed were fraudulent. He went on to say those are not the kind of people they do not want to have. Steam is a trusted software distribution platform, and I can fully understand things from their perspective. Those are some cold, hard facts to contend with. I wonder how that will play out as we move forward. I am wondering if we will see people on Steam move to projects on platforms like UFO Gaming and Gala Games as the metaverse continues to grow and take shape.

2. Anton Nell of Fantom and Andre Cronje are quitting, and the decision has been a long time coming. This will close a huge chapter in the defi space and have major impacts going forward. There are about 25 apps and services that will be terminated April 3. For some, Anton Nell has provided alternatives You can find some of them on his Twitter account (@AntonNellCrypto). If there was ever a term, these guys are defi wizards. Fantom Foundation, for which Andre Conje was a core dev, has put out a statement that the project will not suffer any major setbacks as their team continues to grow. This may be true, but their efforts will, indeed, be missed.

3. I have been saying for some time that I expect XRP to explode once the SEC case concludes. That said, I don't think it is anywhere close to being done, but there are certain signs that are pointing to a favorable ending. It would seem I am not the only one with those thoughts. A number of whales have started accumulating XRP in a huge fashion. When I say huge I man in the hundreds of millions of dollars.

4. With all of this talk about crypto fraud I thought I would bring you some news about fraud in normal banking. It would seem there are a number of fraudulent transactions on the Zelle platform and the big banks that govern it don't seem to be doing anything about it. The NY Times has reported there are a lot of examples of people being scammed using the platform. I bring this to you because I get a little annoyed when people say crypto is so bad but forget about things like this and credit card fraud.

5. I know I harp on Cardano, but they are very close to a major code drop that will come with several expected upgrades. A couple of weeks ago I spoke about how they were doubling their bug bounty. With them taking such pains to ensure their code is as solid as possible, I am a major fan of the project. No, I am not compensated by them at all, but I am holding a bit of the coins. I try to put my money where my mouth is.

6. After being kicked out of the SWIFT network, Russia is turning to China's UnionPay network to evade sanctions. This will throw a major wrench into things as you ponder how the rest of the world will react. Something worth noting is that the Central Bank of Russia is still very much against Russians using crypto. Another worthy note is
