Today I have more big moves in the crypto space, Disney, Brazil, Bill Miller and more!1. Bitcoin a. The Mayor of Rio de Janeiro says he is going to put 15 of the city's reserves in Bitcoin. That is pretty big and adds to the further acceptance of Bitcoin in sovereign states b. Earlier this seek billionaire investor Bill Miller, of Legg Mason fame, has moved 50% of his personal wealth into Bitcoin; if that doesn't say BTC is here to stay I don't know what would! c. I am trying to find some more information, but it sounds like Uruguay may have installed its first BTC ATM d. Doing some research on real estate investments and I see the US being far behind in cryptocurrency acceptance; a friend of mine on Staten Island NY said he was in a not such a great neighborhood and noticed there was a Bitcoin ATM, people are using it to send and receive money from back home. Disney is poised to enter into the Metaverse after filing for a patent on a simulator for bringing the virtual world into a real world venue; with so many thinking the metaverse is some sort of fad, this move demonstrates companies are jumping into the space with serious funds3. It looks like there may have been a few fake Shiba Inu contract addresses listed on CoinMarketCap; If this is true, this could deal yet another blow to the once beloved cryptocurrency data website and yet another stumble after being bought by Binance; Needless to say Twitter was on fire and CoinMarketCap seemed to take the brunt of the ire; the Shib team also made a public statement saying CoinMarketCap knowingly listed the contract addresses4.
