The Central Bank of Ireland has added Ripple, the company supporting the top cryptocurrency XRP, to its list of registered Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs), allowing Ripple Markets Ireland Limited to provide digital asset services within Ireland and plan to expand across the European Economic Area.


Ripple has been actively expanding in various jurisdictions outside the US and is seeking registration as a crypto asset firm with the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority. Additionally, Ripple has obtained a Major Payments Institution License application from Singapore’s central bank and a majority of its 35 money transmitter licences (MTLs) in the US in 2023.
