The Algorand Foundation’s CEO's social media account has been hacked, marking the third major exploit of crypto-related accounts this month. The firm behind the smart contract platform Algorand has warned against interacting with the hacked account and is in the process of recovering it. The hacker's messages include false claims about the CEO, and this marks the third time in January that bad actors have targeted the social media accounts of crypto executives or regulators. Previous hacks include the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and supply chain-focused blockchain VeChain. Despite the hack, there has been no impact on the price of ALGO, which is currently trading at $0.167, showing a 4.2% gain during the last 24 hours.
