(NASDAQ:NWSA) to pay the media company between $5M and $6M per year to develop artificial intelligence-related content and products, The Information reported. The deal is part of a longer partnership between the two companies, the news outlet added, citing a News Corp. employee and person close to the deal. News Corp. shares fell 1.5% in early trading, while Google shares were modestly higher. OpenAI signed a deal with the Financial Times on Monday to use its content to train AI models. It has signed deals with other publishers, including Axel Springer, French newspaper Le Monde, Spanish media conglomerate Prisa Media, the Associated Press, the American Journalism Project, and NYU. The New York Times Company (NYT) sued Microsoft (MSFT) and OpenAI for copyright infringement in late December, alleging the tech companies illegally used the newspaper's content to train artificial intelligence models.
