Rivian Automotive (NASDAQ:RIVN) surged in early trading on Tuesday, ahead of its Q1 earnings report after the closing bell. The California-based company is expected to post a quarterly EPS of -$1.16 along with revenue of $1.17 billion. Rivian Automotive (RIVN) has disclosed that it produced 13,980 vehicles at its manufacturing facility in Normal, Illinois during Q1 and delivered 13,588 vehicles during the same period. These figures surpassed analysts' expectations. The company also reaffirmed its guidance for annual production of 57,000 total vehicles for the full year 2024. Speculative reports about a potential collaboration between Apple (AAPL) and Rivian (RIVN) may have contributed to the share price move. While details are unclear, supply chain sources have hinted at Apple exploring a partnership of some sort with Rivian, although any discussions between the companies remain unconfirmed. Notably, Rivian already counts Amazon (AMZN) as a major investor and commercial van customer. Shares of Rivian Automotive (RIVN) rose 6.00% premarket to $10.96 on substantial volume. The EV stock continues to trade in the lower end of its 52-week range of $8.26 to $28.06.
