Amazon Web Services (NASDAQ:AMZN) CEO Adam Selipsky is stepping away from his position, while AWS stalwart Matt Garman will assume the role effective June 3, the company announced today. Selipsky has led AWS for the past three years, taking over during the pandemic. "Throughout, the team continued to invent and release new services at a rapid clip, including several impactful Generative AI services, such as Amazon Bedrock and Amazon Q," said Amazon CEO Andy Jassy. Garman is an 18-year veteran at AWS. During his tenure, he has served as a product manager; general manager of AWS Compute services; and eventually leader of Sales, Marketing, Support and Professional Services. "There will naturally be some organizational adjustments that we will make as part of this transition, so look for details on those in the coming weeks," Garman said. "Also, I will be hosting a number of AWS Town Halls over the next month, and I look forward to connecting with more of you directly during those." Amazon slipped 1% by mid-morning trading Tuesday.
