Bank of America is facing a class action lawsuit over an alleged deceptive credit card rewards scheme. The lawsuit alleges that the financial giant promised new credit card customers a specific amount of reward points if they spent $3,000 within 90 days, but then allegedly provided a different, less valuable offer without proper notice. The lawsuit seeks damages, restitution, injunctive relief, and class certification to address and cease Bank of America’s alleged deceptive practices.
A group of Bank of America customers are joining together to sue the US financial giant. A proposed class action lawsuit alleges BofA promised to hand a trove of reward points to new credit card customers, as long as they spent $3,000 within 90 days. The difference in value between the two offers is estimated to be at least $200.
Although BofA has not yet responded to the accusations, the suit says Boyer-Gomez sent a letter to the bank detailing what happened, and received a response from the lender that denied any wrongdoing. The lawsuit seeks damages, restitution, injunctive relief, and class certification to address and cease Bank of America’s alleged deceptive practices.
