Binance will support the IOTA network upgrade and hard fork scheduled for May 5, 2025. To facilitate this event, Binance will temporarily suspend IOTA deposits and withdrawals starting at 6:00 a.m. UTC on the upgrade day, which is expected to occur at 7:00 a.m. UTC. Despite the suspension of deposits and withdrawals, trading of IOTA tokens on Binance will continue without interruption. Deposits and withdrawals will resume once the upgraded network is stable.
Binance.US will take preparatory steps earlier by retiring existing IOTA deposit addresses and suspending IOTA deposits and withdrawals starting May 2, 2025, at 11:00 p.m. EDT. This action aims to ensure a smooth transition in light of the upcoming mainnet upgrade.
The IOTA Rebased network upgrade represents a significant transition from the current Stardust architecture to a new network. This transformation will be initiated through a Genesis Ceremony involving 13 validators led by the IOTA Foundation along with 12 additional validators. Major crypto exchanges such as Bitfinex and Bithumb have also announced support for this upgrade.
Users should anticipate a temporary suspension of IOTA token deposits and withdrawals during the upgrade process and plan accordingly. While trading may continue seamlessly on most exchanges, preparing for these operational pauses is vital for a smooth user experience.
