Out of the 58 entities holding Ethereum (ETH) in their treasuries, 10 publicly listed companies collectively hold about $3.2 billion, equivalent to 865,265 ETH. Recent data from Strategic ETH Reserve reveals that four of these companies added 113,300 ETH to their Ethereum reserves. The number of entities increased from 40 in June to 58 by July 22, marking a noticeable surge in institutional interest.
GameSquare Holdings made a significant move in July 2021 by purchasing 8,351.89 ETH for $30 million, boosting its total holdings to 10,170.74 ETH. On the same day, crypto miner BTCS reported holding 55,788 ETH acquired at an average price of $2,846. With Ethereum’s price at $3,698.75 during the latest update, BTCS’s treasury is valued at over $206 million. BTC Digital also expanded its Ethereum reserve by purchasing $5 million worth of ETH on July 21, raising its holdings to 2,135 ETH, nearly an $8 million asset.
SharpLink significantly upped its Ethereum position by acquiring 79,949 ETH between July 14 and 20 at an average cost of $3,238 per ETH. This brought its total holdings to 360,807 ETH, valued around $1.3 billion. Notably, SharpLink, featuring Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin on its executive board, remains the largest public holder of ETH.
Among other publicly listed companies tracked by Strategic ETH Reserve, Centaurus Energy holds 137 ETH reportedly purchased on December 31, 2024, currently valued just over $500,000. Centaurus plans to raise $25 million for investments in Ethereum and Solana. Moss Ethereum, formerly Moss Genomics, maintains a treasury of 324 ETH worth nearly $2 million. Intchains Group and ETH Strategy maintain holdings of approximately 7,000 ETH and 7,900 ETH, respectively.
Bit Digital made headlines by swapping its entire 280 Bitcoin holdings for Ethereum earlier in the month, increasing its ETH reserves to 120,306. Bitmine stands out with nearly 300,700 ETH after a recent acquisition of 163,000 ETH. Following these strategic moves, Bitmine now ranks alongside SharpLink as an Ethereum holder with reserves exceeding those of the Ethereum Foundation.
