Council member Hugo Soto-Martinez, who spearheaded the effort alongside Curren Price, highlighted that this new phase focuses specifically on survivors of intimate partner violence, the group that experienced the most significant positive outcomes in the earlier program. Additionally, the program will include foster youth aged 16 to 24, offering not only financial support but also job training to boost their career prospects.

Participants will benefit from the Hospitality Training Academy, which boasts nearly a 100% success rate in placing graduates into high-quality, union jobs with good pay. This innovative pairing of direct cash payments with practical employment skills is designed to create sustainable economic stability for vulnerable populations in Los Angeles.
